Marriage Minute December 30, 2018

Malachi 2:16 “For the man who does not love his wife but divorces her, says the Lord, the God of Israel, covers his garment with violence, says the Lord of hosts. So, guard yourselves in your spirit, and do not be faithless.”

The Lord God says when a man does not love his wife, but divorces her, his clothes are covered with violence (in another blood shed). Men, not loving your wife is serious business to God. Divorce is serious to God. It does have lasting consequences, to the individuals, to their children, to the grandchildren, aunts and uncles, the church, the community.

Every husband is commanded to love their wife like Christ loved the church and gave Himself for her.

Husband, how are you doing in loving your wife; are you selfish, and harsh, and want your way? Try asking your wife if she feels like you love her as Christ loved the church and then allow her to respond.

Husband’s Prayer: Lord, please help to love my wife and not be faithless / treacherous in my marriage.

Wife’s Prayer: Lord, please help me not to be faithless, help me to honor and love my husband.
