Marriage Minute 3-3-2019 How mature is your love for others? Below are some emotions of immature love. See if any of these fit you. Jealousy: Are you afraid of losing someone or something you value because it meets your “needs”? Envy: Do you desire what others may have? When we do this, we imagine that we will be better off if we have what they have. Anger: This comes from the inability to control others or circumstances or not reaching our goals. Or the loss of what we think would make us happy. Loneliness: This is the result of dependence on other people to make us happy. Fear: is when we imagine our goals or needs won’t be met. Immature love tends to use people or things for our pleasure, comfort, and needs, not to serve them, honor them and meet their needs and wants. Jesus said it is much better to give than to receive. Do you notice any of these emotions are common in your life? If yes, will you pray and ask the Lord to make you content with Him, to be filled with His love, and serve others, especially your mate? Prayer: Father, please make me emotionally mature. I need Your help, fill me with Your love.
